MANTIS comes from direct experience with what IHM compliance looks like in practice — not from a distance.
The Inventory of Hazardous Materials is one of the most technically demanding compliance obligations a superyacht faces. The Hong Kong Convention and EU Ship Recycling Regulation are clear on what's required — but the tooling to actually maintain an IHM hasn't kept pace.
Most vessels end up with a spreadsheet, a folder of PDFs, and the knowledge that when the surveyor arrives, there will be a scramble. MANTIS was built to replace that scramble with a system that keeps the IHM current between surveys.
MANTIS is developed by Navio Maritime OÜ, an Estonian maritime technology company. The founder is a working Chief Engineer with direct experience managing IHM compliance across refit, new build, and operational phases.
Every product decision is grounded in what maritime operations actually require — not what looks good on a feature list.
MANTIS is the IHM compliance module in a broader maritime management platform. The goal is a single system that handles the full lifecycle of vessel compliance — from planned maintenance to regulatory documentation — without the duplication and file sprawl that define current workflows.
We're bootstrapped and building for the long term. No venture capital, no growth hacking. Just software that works for the people who have to use it.
